Wanna ride bikes?

On Wednesday I chaperoned a field trip for Zach's kindergarten class. I didn't know kids could be that nice. Sure, my kids are well behaved, but I assumed most modern kids were cracked out video game addicts who sassed back at all forms of authority. Seriously, Zach's class must be the sweetest, nicest group of kindergarten kids in all of, well, West View anyway.
This morning I went on a bike ride with two friends. I got invited last minute, and jumped at the chance. Last minute events are the only events I enjoy. The more I anticipate, and plan for things, the shittier they pan out.
Riding with people my age was a treat. That's another thing I like about Pittsburgh - lots of cool people my age. In Chicago, I often wondered where my age group was hiding. Most everyone was either 10 years younger, or older than me. People my age tended to be grad students from Crapkongistan. One day Mrs. dragged the family to a picnic in Libertyville (A far flung northern suburb). Holy crap. And there they were - an entire town of zombie 30-somethings. I couldn't help but stare. They appeared to suffer from some type of intellectual malnutrition. There's a version of Libertyville in Pittsburgh - it's called Cranberry. Why anyone would choose to live such a bland life is beyond my understanding. It's unhealthy.
